ANNE WRIGHT
(nee KOZMET)

With great sadness, the family of Anne Wright announces her passing on January 19, 2020.
Anne is survived by daughter Shelley Vivian; and cousins Frank (Janine), Agnes and Steve Kozmet. She was predeceased by her mother Rose Kozmet.
Anne was born on December 16, 1944, in Budapest, Hungary and came to Canada in 1957. After graduating from Tec Voc, she went on to work at the Codville Company, Price Industries, Agriculture Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency.
Anne was an accomplished athlete. A member of the Norwood Lawn Bowling Club, and the Heather and St. Vital Curling Clubs, she won numerous titles in both sports. She was a member of curling teams that won three City Championships, a Manitoba Seniors Championship and Manitoba Masters Championship. In lawn bowling, she represented Manitoba at more than 20 national championships over the years, winning medals of all colours, including many golds. Anne was an animal lover and sports fan, and especially loved watching Winnipeg Jets games with her daughter and her miniature schnauzer, Riley.
Thanks to the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their dedicated care.
Donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or an animal welfare charity.
Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Anne's life is planned.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • So sorry to hear of Anne's passing. Although I only got to know Anne for a few years while I was her hairstylist, I truly looked forward to our visits. She was a gentle soul who shared my love of our pets. I will miss her wonderful smile and our visits. - Posted by: Darcy Slon-Comeau (Hairstylist) on: Feb 06, 2020

  • Anne was such a nice lady. We will miss seeing her and Riley on our dog walks. - Posted by: Cheryl, Ryan & Champ (Neighbors) on: Jan 30, 2020

  • My sincere condolences on your loss. I pray that memories of happier times will see you through your time of grief! "God gave us memory so we might enjoy roses in winter." Anne was a gracious lady I was blessed to know for more than 20 years. I had the rare privilege of representing Manitoba at 2 Canadian Mixed Pairs Lawn Bowling Championships, with Anne as my playing partner. The world was a better place because of Anne, who has gone to be with the angels. She will be missed. - Posted by: Bob Strong (Friend) on: Jan 26, 2020
