I have had the privilege of knowing Doris through her Daughter, see we had met in a social setting for young people with disabilities after several years our paths crossed again which led me to a more ‘solid’ place in my life! We had lost touch only to reconnect a few months ago! Doris was one person I could talk to when I felt I could not talk to anyone else! I will miss her and pass on my deepest condolences to the family! - Posted by: Andrea Ingraham (Friend) on: Mar 14, 2020

Doris was my friend. We met on a ski trip to Kimberley, BC in 1987. On the bus, instead of partying like the rest, I was reading a book - and she was the only other person on the bus reading her own book. Turns out we were paired together as roommates for the weekend, as well, and the rest was history. We became the closest of friends and for the next 20+ years, like Meredith and Christina on "Grey's Anatomy", Doris was my person and I was hers. We just "got" each other. Then, when she moved to her farm and I stayed in the city, we saw less and less of each other. But though life took us in different directions, I always loved my dearest friend. It feels pretty lonely here knowing she is no longer in the world. - Posted by: Bonnie Lalonde (friend) on: Feb 02, 2020
