Mr. D. or GEORGE was our principal at Murdoch McKay in the 60's. He was a great principal! He was firm but fair, friendly and always ready to share a laugh. I had the good fortune of following Mr. D. into education as a career and ultimately living within 2 blocks of him for the last 40 or more years. George became my friend and neighbour and I was able to help him out with many home projects, especially in his later years. He was just so generous and full of life and yes, cantankerous at times. I will miss him being in the 'hood and miss our lively discussions on anything and everything. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Ken Schellenberg (former student) on: May 22, 2020
