Left to cherish his memory is his best friend and life partner, Susan Newman, his mother Laurianne (Andy), his sons, Dustyn (Brenna, granddaughter Flora) and Walker (Kaylie), stepchildren, Micheal (Candice) and Brooke (Andrew), his siblings, Larry (Dorina), Joanne Lighthizer, Janice (Kerry), Allan (Jeannine) and Jacqui, nieces, Erin and Molly, and nephew Blair.

Brian was born in Winnipeg where he found his love of motorcycles and started wrenching on Harleys in his late teens. By the age of 20, he received his Aircraft Mechanic Certification. He was an exceptional mechanic and his work took him across Canada and to California.
In 1987, he left Winnipeg and relocated to Ladysmith, BC where he bought his first crane truck and got involved with Sprint Car racing - #85 which he won multiple trophies with. His crane company grew into Dudeck Truck & Crane Ltd.
Brian always had a passion for adventure. His favourites being fishing on the West Coast waters, snowmobiling and skiing in the mountains with his loved ones. Brian will be remembered by family and friends for his wit, sense of humour and friendly smile. He had a successful, adventurous and rewarding life and will be greatly missed.

I am very sorry for your loss. We first met Brian when we visited him with his sister Joanne, he was a amazing friendly character with cheeky smile. An adventurer he took us fishing out in his boat and we caught a big halibut and got to see some bears. A lovely kind and generous man, we visited him again a few years later. Such a fabulous, fun, open and generous man. RIP Brian - Posted by: Ana Bettley (Friend) on: Feb 04, 2020

Meet Brain at the Cassidy racetrack an ask if he need any crew for working on his sprint car. Found out we enjoyed many of the same things. Really enjoyed helping keep the car ready for racing even when we traveled to the states a couple times. Will miss his laugh an smile. - Posted by: Lloyd Palmer (Friend) on: Feb 03, 2020

Growing up, Brian’s family and mine would occasionally spend some time together. I was actually closer in age to Larry and Joanne, but I remember always how much fun it was to visit their house on Matheson. I thought Brian was as cute as could be with such a playful demeanour and cute smile. It was many years before I saw him again unfortunately, but he was still cute even as a grown man. My condolences to all of you. I hope you too will recall him with a smile in your heart. - Posted by: Shirley Dudech (Cousin) on: Feb 03, 2020

My earliest memory of Brian is a time he came with his family to our house where he promptly found a quiet corner and proceeded to read my brothers comics! A few years back my husband and I took a trip to Vancouver island. We called up Brian whom we had not seen in years and years. We met at a pub in the middle of nowhere but close to his home. This visit was a surprise to him but still , he came and then we went to his home where he proudly showed us his home, his machinery and workshop, the things in his life that made him happy. When I think of Brian I see his big smile. - Posted by: Elaine McCaughey (Cousin) on: Feb 03, 2020
