HELEN ZACHARIAS
(nee DECH)
February 23, 1934 - January 29, 2020
She was predeceased by her husband Adolf; and two brothers, Peter Dech (Erna) and Frank Dech (Anita). She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Michael.
Mom came to Canada with her parents and one brother in 1951 at the age of 17. Ending up in Morris, MB, she met her husband Adolf and was married in 1953. They moved to Winnipeg in 1957. To mom, her family was her life. She enjopyed raising her children and watching them grow up. Mom loved needlepoint and knitting. She also had much fun playing with her two cats.
The family wishes to thank her homecare staff as well as the staff at Seven Oaks and St. Boniface Hospitals for their compassionate care.
Mom, we love you and will miss you until we meet again.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut Street.
