JOSEPH PAUL LALONDE
January 15, 1941 January 25, 2020
He leaves behind his wife Geraldine (Rivard); children, Jason Feal, Joelle (Mark) Hutcheson and Jocelyne Lalonde (Nathan Wikstrom); daughter-in-law Nikki Feal and grandchildren, Kennedy, Mackland, Matthew, Audrey, Joséphine, Chloé and Rielle.
Paul loved people and valued relationships above all else. This was especially true when it came to his family. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with those he loved, cheering on his grandchildren in their various activities, giving amazing hugs and reminding us of his love every chance he had. Paul was happiest when sharing a meal with his family.
Paul was committed to his community. He was a member of the Reston Lions Club and the St. Norbert Parish Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight and received many awards for his service. He never hesitated to help a friend or neighbour and was always the first person to visit a friend or family member in the hospital.
Paul was born in Zenon Park, SK, where his family owned a garage that housed a satellite Bank of Montreal office a few days a week. His father arranged for him to interview with the BMO and, right out of high school, he began his banking career in Arborfield.
Paul's 38 year BMO career included the communities of Fox Valley, Domremy, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg Beach, Carman, St. Anne, Reston and finally Winnipeg. In his semi-retirement, he went on to work for the Caisse Populaire in Ellie, La Salle, St. Claude, Notre Dame de Lourdes and St. Boniface. He held many positions, in various branches, but what stands out most was the value he placed on the connections he made with the people he worked for and with.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Norbert Parish, with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Paul's memory to the Alzheimer Society of MB.
The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home for the loving care they provided Paul.

Paul was my first Boss when I started working at the Bank of Montreal in Winnipeg Beach in 1973. He was more of a Big Brother to me than a Boss. His kindness and guidance was always appreciated and remembered. Rest in peace my dear mentor and friend. Karl - Posted by: Karl Godar (former employee (Winipeg Beach)) on: Feb 02, 2020

I first met Paul in 1972 at Winnipeg Beach and later in 1974 at Ste Anne when I was a conservation officer. He was my first loan lender. We became friends and enjoyed many wonderful visits during the early years of our careers . As years went on, we lost touch of each but not forgotten. I had often thought about him and occasionally I would try to learn of his whereabouts. Ironically my career before retirement was 38 years as well. He was a kind, gentle person and always gave good advice. Rest in peace Paul, and may the grace of God bless and comfort your family. - Posted by: Jack Kowalchuk (Friend) on: Feb 01, 2020
