LEO DANIS
July 26, 1933 - January 29, 2020

Peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family, Leo passed away at the Selkirk Regional Hospital.
He was born in Gatineau, Quebec and before his first birthday his family moved to south central Manitoba where he spent his school years. As a young man he moved to Atikokan, Ontario where he met his love, Mildred. Leo and Mildred later moved their growing family to Walkleburg, Manitoba and later to the Libau area.
Leo knew the value of hard work and taught by example - living a life of peace, love and strength. He worked as a general store employee, a labourer, had a topsoil business, was a farmer, an electrician, and a municipal councillor, but what defined him was his role as a family man. When he left us he took with him the great joy of knowing his first grandchild is on the way.
Leo was predeceased by his wife Mildred, his daughter Sylvia, his parents, Josephine and Ovila (Ovide), and his brothers, Rolland and Maurice.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Ernie, Lorette (Jim), Louise, Joanne, Sheila (Leo) and Keith (Sheri), his brothers, Norman and Marcel, his sisters, Rita and Alice, his dear friend Joyce, as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 5819 Henderson Hwy., Narol, Manitoba, with Father Joshua Gundrum officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please offer a gift of kindness to someone in need.
