JULIA MOED

Marie Julia Moed, aged 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Rocky View Hospital, Unit 83.
Julia was born on February 16, 1935 in Winnipeg, MB. She married Frederick Moed in April 1954 and was blessed with four sons. Her life was a living example of the bible verse, Esphesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." For many years Julia worked as a nurses' aide which suited her servant heart, until her retirement in 1995. In March of 2018, Fred and Julia moved to Calgary to be closer to Harry and Susan.
Julia will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of over 65 years, Fred; sons, Harry (Susan) Moed of Calgary and David (Janice Keddie) Moed of Winnipeg; sisters, Mary, Sylvia, Gertrude and Roland; sister-in-law Kay (Art) Huebert of Winnipeg and many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched each one of us deeply. Each and every day she missed her son Frank who passed away in 1973 at the age of 18. Then, suddenly in March of 2016, she lost her youngest son Paul. Each and every day, Julia missed her wonderful mother-in-law Winnifred Moed, who passed away in 1997.
Julia enjoyed a good cup of coffee or tea while catching up with family and friends. She would always spoil her family with her homemade butter tarts and apple pie.
Mom, we will love you forever and miss you always !
The family would like to thank Sage Hill Retirement Residence in Calgary for the wonderful care each and every day they provided to Julia and are providing to Fred. We would also like to thank the staff at Rocky View Hospital, Unit 83, for their compassion and care they showed Julia.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life later this year in Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Julia's name directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Mom The Broken Chain We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, Your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain broken, once again, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one. The chain will link again. Love always we will miss you.
