MARGARET PATTISON

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Lois Pattison announces her peaceful passing on Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, at the age of 101 years.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families across Canada, for her outgoing and cheerful nature. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon and her sister Helen Gibbons.
Margaret was born on February 13, 1918, in Winnipeg and lived all her life in Manitoba.
Margaret worked in the jewellery department of the Hudson's Bay Company until her retirement in 1983. She enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer. She was a longtime member of the St. Boniface Golf course with her husband Gordon. Margaret could be found on the course or in the clubhouse every week until she was in her 90s. Being involved in fundraisers for children's charities was important to Margaret. She loved helping others.
In keeping with Margaret's wishes, a private funeral service will be held in the spring.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care that Margaret received over the past six years.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I was sad to hear the news about Margaret. My Mom and Dad were good friends with Marg and Gord when they lived in Winnipeg before and after the war. Gord was my brother's godfather. We used to send Christmas cards to Marg until a few years ago. We had no idea she had been in a nursing home and only passed away ion 2020. I had the pleasure of visiting with them in 1991 and they took me all around Winnipeg to show me the golf course and places that my dad had lived. In the 60's Gord and Marg were supposed to come out to Vancouver to visit my mom and dad. Legend has it that Gord got as far as the Rockies and couldn't go any further, because he didn't like heights. My condolences to the nephews and nieces of this wonderful lady.
