ARTHUR WILLIAM LOBSON

Arthur Lobson passed away peacefully on February 13, 2020, at the age of 87.
He was predeceased by the love of his life Joyce and and his son Cameron. He will be missed by his sons, Brent (Shona) and Scott (Mary); and grandchildren, Reid, Dana, Dylan, Ryan, Carter, Cooper and Everett.
Art was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who spent 34 years as a proud member of the Winnipeg Police Service.
He was a renaissance man who loved to draw and paint and work with his hands. He played piano and was an outdoorsman. He had the craziest sense of humour and was politically incorrect all the time. You never knew what he would do or say! He had a generous spirit and will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Thank you to the caring staff from Deer Lodge Tower 7 for providing excellent care over the years.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street, Winnipeg.

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • Uncle Art and Auntie Joyce took me into their home when I was a young child (6ish). I have always remembered their kindness to me as a foster child. I have remembered them all my life and the lessons their kindness taught me. I knew from them that there were kind and good people in this world. I am so thankful to have had them as earth angels and wish them all the peace and blessings in the heavens. - Posted by: Patti Falinski (Foster Daughter) on: May 14, 2020

  • Art had some great stories! Enjoyed fishing with him in the north-lots of fun. I was thinking of him just before Christmas wondering how I could get a steak and kidney pie over to him. He helped me years ago when my dad passed away. I didn't forget, thanks again Artie! - Posted by: Dave and Dorothy caldwell (Friends) on: Feb 18, 2020

  • We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Art. He and Joyce were very important to our family and we have some great memories. We still have a couple of the items he painted for us and I know the girls both have items as well. Art painted decorations on the bedroom wall for our granddaughter when she was little and they were adorable. He always had mints in his pocket for Sammi and then Juice! We will always remember him and he will be missed. Sending our love to the family❤️ - Posted by: Yvonne and Harry Miller (Family ) on: Feb 15, 2020

  • So sorry to hear the news of uncle Art’s passing. My condolences to Brent and Scott and their families. I will always have fond memories of growing up on the same street as Uncle Art and his family and the many times we all spent at Brereton Lake. Art was a great man with a wicked sense of humour. All his stories over the years were very entertaining. He is now at peace after a long battle and reunited with Joyce and Cameron.
