LINDA J. DUNWOODY

It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of Linda Dunwoody (nee Geldart) on February 13, 2020, at the St. Boniface Hospital.
She is survived by her son Chris, partner Hank Mesman, sister Sharon Duncan (Rob), and nephew Scott.
Born in Belleville, Ontario in 1948, Linda is predeceased by her father Gerald Geldart (1998) and mother Alice (2017).
After graduating college with a degree in journalism, she worked for many media and communication organizations over the years, retiring from the University of Manitoba 12 years ago. Linda's passion from day one was travelling the world and experiencing new places. When she was not travelling she loved her gardening and singing in the St. Ignatius choir. Family was very important to her and she always said, "treasure and take care of those around you because they are all you have." As a single mother with a young son she made sure that she shared her passion of travel with him as well. By the time her son Chris was 14 years old she had taken him across Canada, the USA and Ireland twice (with a side trip to London along the way). Her love of family and faith made her a beautiful soul who impacted the lives of everyone around her.
Funeral Mass is to be held on Saturday, February 22, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St., Winnipeg, MB.
