DONALD BOYCHUK
Don will be lovingly remembered by his children, Arlene and Christopher (Michelle); grandchildren, Liam, Teague, Eamon, Lucas, Mia, and Cael; brother Gary Boychuk, and sister Brenda (Cliff) Murphy. Don will also be dearly missed by his extended family, co-workers, and the many friends he has made over the years. Don was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary.
Don began his career in Winnipeg at Coca-Cola which lead him to a management position at Pepsi Canada. He then transitioned into the transport industry with Purolator before moving to Barrie, ON to take a position with Dicom. In recent years, he moved to Calgary to join YRC Reimer and finally made his way to Regina where he hoped to finish his career with Kindersley Transport.
Don was very sociable and made many friends across Canada. He loved travelling to Las Vegas, Florida, Mexico, and all over the Caribbean, but his favourite destination was a recent trip to the Canary Islands. Don played hockey in his early years and was drawn to the country music scene where he could two-step with the best of them. He was always active; be it through curling, softball, dart leagues, or golfing. Don enjoyed cooking for his family and loved spending time with them. On his many visits home to Winnipeg, he would often stay up all night playing cards, Risk, or Scrabble. Don was a true sports-fan; he cheered for the Jets, Vikings, Bombers, Expos, Jays, and Raptors.
A celebration of Don's life will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020. Please contact the family for details.
Memorial donations may be made in Don's name to the Children's Wish Foundation.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Pasqua Hospital, Alternatives Funeral Services and Kindersley Transport for their care and compassion.

We were extremely fortunate to have a chance to know and work with Don. Since he started working at Kindersley in Regina, he was the glue that kept things together and made sure everything ran smoothly. We will miss him each and every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Boychuk family in these days. - Posted by: Doug and Deb Siemens (Employer) on: Feb 21, 2020

My sincere condolences to Don's family. I had the privilege of working with Don for a number of years in his time at Purolator. Despite long hours, and more than our share of challenges, Don always had a way of making us all laugh. Every so often, a loud "GIANGANTICA" would be heard around the building. Don spoke his mind, and certainly had fun. I often look back at those times and laugh to myself about some of his shenanigans. Rest in peace Donny B. - Posted by: Joe Shedden (Friend) on: Feb 20, 2020

I have had the privilege of working with Don in his most recent employment. Don was a great person and a true caring individual. He was most definitely a person people wanted to work with and for. Don, I am going to miss my Keg lunch every time the Eagles beat the Vikings and seeing you in that 3-sizes too small Raptors jersey. Our prayers are with you and your family. - Posted by: Corey Thiessen (Friend/Co-worker) on: Feb 20, 2020

Don became a part of our family for a number of years through which he got to experience and we got to experience his zest for life. His loyalty and above all else his enduring friendship. He watched our kids grow up and even became the one and the only one "Uncle Don". We as a family are heartbroken and we only wish we could have spent more time with Don as hopefully he was getting an opportunity to actually begin to enjoy life after working for so many years. Don we will miss your stories, we will miss your laughter, we will miss your made up poker games, Sunday dinners and most of all your famous "Chicken Cacciatore", "Spinach Dip", and your awesome Caesar. Our hearts go out to Don's family and his grandchildren who should have had much longer and more time with their grandfather. Gone too soon but never forgotten. Thank you for your friendship, your love and loyalty. We will never forget you. Mike, Maria, Dominique and Marc - McCarthy - Posted by: Michael and Maria McCarthy (Friends) on: Feb 19, 2020

I remember meeting Don in the early 90's at Purolator in Winnipeg. We had long, busy days that many times ended at Grapes, where we played the VLT's and shared many jokes and fun times. Don was always making us laugh. He had a great sense of humour, and to this day we still reference many things he did and said when we reminisce about the old days. Don will always be remembered, and although we had lost touch over the years, I'll always look back fondly on the times we worked and hung out together. Rest easy old friend. - Posted by: Jon (Friend) on: Feb 19, 2020

I had the true pleasure of meeting Don in 1993 and we became very good friends over the years. I was very saddened to hear the news of Don's passing. Don loved to laugh, he loved to joke around and have fun. We have so many fond memories of our time with Don, sure wish that we could have had a little more time together. A great friend, a wonderful man, taken far too early. The wishes and prayers of my family are extended to the Boychuk family and Don's many close friends. Rest in Peace friend, you will be dearly missed! - Posted by: Rick Barnes (Freind) on: Feb 19, 2020
