RENE PAQUIN

It is with great sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Rene Paquin on February 11, 2020, at the age of 90 years - a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Rene was born in St. Boniface, MB. After finishing his education he moved to Edmonton, met and married Anne and together they had three beautiful daughters. Rene is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anne; three daughters, Louise (David), Jacqueline and Jeannine (Darren); five grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrea (Travis), Jeffery, Bryan and Alexander (Amy); and seven great-grandchildren, Sarah, Iain, Matthew, Rachel, Lila, Eleanor and Annie.
Rene worked hard in the oil industry and upon retirement loved to play bridge and swim. He was the treasurer for the Liberal Party of Alberta, fundraiser for Lawrence Decore, a Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Council Grand Knight, Assembly Faithful Navigator and District Deputy - these were just a few of his accomplishments during his journey through life. Whatever Rene took on he did with passion and zeal.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Edmonton General Hospital Palliative Care for their care of Rene and their kindness to the Paquin family.
As per Rene's wish, a public funeral will not be held but rather a private family gathering celebrating Rene's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, Palliative Care or a charity of one's choice.
