JUSTIN KOLE GRYBA

Justin Kole Gryba was born February 1, 1985 in Eriksdale, Manitoba, and died in his sleep on February 20, 2020.
Justin leaves to mourn his beloved wife Andrea, children, JJ (Justin Jet) and Savi, his father Larry Lindell and stepmother DeeDee Lindell, his brother Corey Lindell, his sisters, Shae-Lynne and Logan Lindell, his nieces, Kelsey and Kadence Lindell, his grandmother Violet Lindell, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and a close circle of valued and longstanding friends.
Justin was predeceased by his mother Diane Gryba, his maternal grandparents, Josie and Archie Gryba, and his paternal grandfather Ricky Lindell.
Justin packed a lot of living in 35 years. He was 6'4" tall and an easy to love, gentle giant with a ready sense of humour, unflagging optimism, and an eagerness to help his friends and family. Whether it was rebuilding an engine, renovating a house, brushing fence lines, cutting wood, building powerlines, carefully tending to his dying mom, clearing land, cooking a gourmet dinner from scratch, or vigorously exercising the RCMP from three jurisdictions before heading home for a good night's sleep, he did it all with unwavering focus, profound grace, self-deprecating humour and quiet humility. He managed to find humour in the mundane and inspiration within the many challenges he bore with little complaint. He not only inspired loyalty amongst his many friends and crew mates but he granted it in return.
He worked the wild country of Canada, from east to west coast and in the north. He built winter roads and power lines, operating heavy equipment and running job sites and men at a young age, following trails blazed by his father and grandfather.
The most treasured events in his storied life was his marriage to Andrea, the great love of his life, on July 20, 2013, and the birth of his son JJ on February 24, 2015 and his daughter Savi on June 15, 2017. Justin was a hands-on father who loved hanging out and doing stuff with his wife and kids. He loved hosting a cookout for 30 at Violet's little house, teaching JJ how to change a tire and how to hunt, harvesting a lifetime of kisses from Savi, and teaching the kids how to tend his beautiful deck garden. Every day was an adventure when he was around and his young family was the source of his joy, his inspiration, and his love.
If love alone could have kept him here, he would have lived forever.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2020, in the Eriksdale Recreation Centre with Dawn Tober officiating. Interment will be in the Mulvihill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Corey Lindell, Kelvin Lindell, Bo Lindell, Brent Sanford, Braden Tkach and Doug Granberg.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to: E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital Guild, c/o Irene Sigurdson, Box 474, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0.

Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • It is really difficult to put into words the thought of someone so young passing before us. To his wife Andrea and his children JJ and Savi, To his Father Larry and stepmother Deedee, to his Brother Corey and his family, to his sisters Shae-Lynn and Logan and to his Grandmother Violet. We know what you are going through and what is in store for the days ahead. You will never get over the loss of Dear Justin, but after a long, long time you may learn to live with him no longer being around. Every beautiful memory you have of Justin and every photo you see of him will make your eyes leak. If it brings any comfort to you, just know that we are thinking of you all. - Posted by: Lloyd and Carole Christiansen (Great Uncle and Aunt) on: Mar 01, 2020

  • Justin, I could write a million stories about you. My memories of spending nearly twenty years in the family left me with profound love and respect for you. You found humour in making me cry driving through fields or walking miles because we were stuck in a swamp and had to get help. Stop being a suck he would always say. As a teenager he challenged his parents but loved them unwaveringly. There’s so many stories I could tell that they are beyond endless. The one thing I will say is that your heart was bigger than anyone I can think of. As big of a man as you were, I think your heart was bigger. You would do anything you could to get a laugh or a smile or help someone without expecting in return. You created a beautiful family and devoted your life to them. I am at a loss. My heart is broken. Although I may not technically be your sister-in-law right now, in my heart u will always be my little big brother. I love you more than words. The girls adored their uncle Justin. They remember u building the swing at grammas for them. They remember you grabbing and flipping them around and most of all teaching them something along the way. Also the fishing trips and fish fry’s at Dauphin River. This is to you Justin. May you reunite with Diane and know that we are forever lost on earth without u. We love you. • Hearing of this sad news comes as a tremendous shock. Although Justin and I unfortunately lost touch over the years of becoming adults, he was a big part of my middle/high school years and the adventures I had with him are memories to always be cherished. He always knew how to make me laugh and he had a knack of making sure you knew were special to him. My condolences to everyone that was a part of Justin's life. You will be missed. - Posted by: Amber (Childhood friend) on: Feb 29, 2020
