TIMOTHY JAMES FRANCIS WALLIS
June 16, 1956 - February 9, 2020
"You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way." - Walter Hagen.
He joins his mum Margaret, and dad Barry, predeceased.
No service was held. According to his wishes he was cremated, and the scattering of his ashes will be at a later date.
Timothy had a big heart, was genuine in his relations and loved deeply. He was very optimistic, and in challenging situations he chose to see the silver lining. He always wore a broad smile. He was giving, trusting and saw the good in everyone. He had very good friends from diverse cultures. He was proud to be British, and his British etiquette knew no bounds. He was a gentleman par excellence. He was well-travelled and the statement "you have to smell the roses along the way" was typical of him. He firmly believed in the world of Science. He was an avid reader and also loved reading Science Fiction. He was a very brilliant and knowledgeable man. He was a Technology Geek, and pursued a career in Computer Programming. He loved Maths and said he would hear numbers in his head. He loved his quiet, serene moments and always engaged his mind with Sudoku Puzzles. He was a member of Mensa Canada and contributed to The Mensa Publication, where he published his Sudoku Puzzles. He adored Classical Music. Timothy was a man of his words, lived his life to the fullest and on his own terms. For the last couple of years he struggled with Muscular Dystrophy, and his statement was "his body had let him down."
Timothy's wish was to contribute towards studies that would help find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Donations in honour of his memory can be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
Special thanks to all those who took care of him: The Home Care Staff from Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Lennox Bell Lodge, Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg, Grace Hospital, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, Dr. Gerald Hoy, Dr. Ilse and Dr. Rabson.
