DIANE RITA MARIE TIMMINS
(née CAYER)
Diane will be deeply missed and forever loved by her daughters, Melanie and Lori; her four beautiful grandchildren; her two sons-in-law, Rob and Andy; her wonderful stepmother Betty and her son Blake; her big brother Paul and his family; her sister Linda; brothers, Reggie and David and their families; her close friend Brenda; her large extended family (too many cousins to count!); and all those she touched and uplifted.
Born on March 21, 1951, in Winnipeg to parents Reginald Cayer and Rita Vandale, Diane was the second of five children who were raised in a Franco-Manitobain home. She grew up playing hockey, singing and dancing in school plays, and helping out with family.
Diane was not afraid of challenges and was determined in her pursuits. She graduated as president of Sisler High School in 1969, before completing a Bachelor of Arts in French and History at the University of Winnipeg in 1974. Upon graduation, she worked as a legal secretary at Christie DeGraves, during which time she had her two girls. Diane then embarked on a long career with the City of Winnipeg as a well-respected and dedicated Community Clerk. She retired at 58, after more than 25 years with the city.
Diane loved her family and her two girls were her passion. She was a devoted mother who was always present, selfless and showed unwavering support and affection to her children (and later grandchildren). A loyal, generous friend, she spent much of her spare time traveling with those she loved and was always up for a game of cribbage or music and dance. Undeterred by the challenges brought on by her illness in her final years, Diane retained her joie de vivre and always had a smile on her face (or a thumb's up).
Cremation has already taken place. A service and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Diane's family graciously ask for a donation to the Brain Canada Foundation in Diane's name.

To: Family and Friends of Dianne: I am saddened to hear about Dianne's passing. She will be missed certainly by her siblings, daughters and grandchildren. Having worked with her for many years here at City Clerk's Department, she became a good friend and a Confidant for years. I'm sure our dear Lord is happy to have her in HIS kingdom and Heavenly angels will welcome her joyfully. And who knows maybe she will join the choir of the angels in heaven as she was a very good singer. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and may her soul rest in peace. Diane was one of the very first to welcome me and take me under her wing when I began my career with the City Clerk's Department. From Day 1, she was kind, funny, helpful and always took an interest in me and all the people around her. Each of us, having two much loved daughters, shared many wonderful stories about our families. Diane never had a negative comment about anyone and she was a wonderful role model - much loved, the world is a quite a bit emptier without her. - Posted by: Danielle Caron (Friend and colleague) on: Feb 29, 2020

I was in the same room at school with Dianne. I remember her as being the smartest in class and a very classy and well brought up young girl. I recognized her picture immediately, so she must of made a impression in my life. Condolences to her family. - Posted by: Bernice Cardinal (School friend) on: Feb 29, 2020
