VERA VIOLET NORD
September 21, 1934 - February 24, 2020
Vera is lovingly remembered by her son Ken Nord (Frédéric), her sister Judy Schwartz (Rob), her nephew Lorne Schwartz (Karen), her niece Laurie Schwartz, Bev Duncan and the many friends her full life touched.
Vera was born on Peonan Point near Steep Rock, Manitoba, and grew up on the family farm, where she gained a love of horses, nature and a fierce independence. Vera enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She carried on her father's woodworking talents as a piano refinisher in Winnipeg. Vera retired to her house in Steep Rock, where she enjoyed gardening and fishing.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faulkner Seniors Centre.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of your choice.

Ken, sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I’ve thought of you and your Mom many times over the years. Your Mom was a family friend for many years, and the two of you stayed with our family (Bill and Jessie Gibbons) one winter. You were just a toddler then. Your Mom was devoted to you. She was a nice lady, and had a great sense of humour, easy laugh. May many happy memories comfort you at this time.
