(SHORTY)
Walter was predeceased by his first wife Jean in 1976; son-in-law Darrell Babynchuk in 2018; as well as brothers, Mickey and John; sisters, Nellie and Nettie; sisters-in-law, Jean, Stella; and brothers-in-law, Steve and Peter. He was also predeceased by his parents, John and Ann, and many other family members.
Walter will be deeply missed by his second wife of 42 years, Shirley; son Michael (lngrid), daughter Terri; stepsons, Darryl (Diana), Barry (Penny) and Dale (Brad); as well as several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Walter was born in Winnipeg on July 23,1931 where he was educated.
Walter had many job positions in his life with most time spent at McCurdy's Supply (Lafarge) and at Seven Oaks Hospital. He enjoyed these positions immensely and met many people. Walter was a people person who impacted many individuals in so many ways with his zest and fun for life. Walter was always a joker and if you asked him his age, he would reply 100.
Walter was a jack of all trades and was always willing to help anyone with building assistance or advice. He built many garages, sheds and decks just to name a few. He was especially proud of the cabins he built at Nutimik Lake and Valhalla.
A private immediate family service will be held.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff at Poseidon Personal Care Home especially the staff on 5th floor namely: Gia, Elaine, Rhonda, Edgar, Mike Scott, as well as resident ambassadors, Greg and Mike.
In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
