DONALD EVERETT GODFREY
August 15, 1941 - February 26, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald (Don) Everett Godfrey. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he lived there until moving to British Columbia in 1968.
Don leaves behind his wife Ruth; son Derek (Gena); daughters, Crystal and Janet; stepchildren, Trevor (Lara) and Lisa; and seven grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Jayson, Trey, Emma, Jack and Evelyn. He will be missed by his sister Jeanette (Reg), niece Christine and nephew Craig (Pam), great-nieces, Erin, Brenna and Caitlyn.
Don retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in June 2009 after 38 years, leaving his job as a locomotive engineer. Don was passionate about golf and hockey, whether playing it or watching it. In the last few years, he enjoyed a competitive game of bocce with his friends and neighbours at the Four Seasons at Terra Lago community where he and Ruth spent time during the winter months.
He was surrounded by his family as he passed away. The family would like to thank Vancouver General Hospital Intensive Care Unit team for their tender care of Don and compassion for the family at his bedside.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Star of the Sea Community Centre, in White Rock, BC.
