WILLIAM G. SHAVER
September 3, 1951 February 27, 2020
Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Cheryl, of 36 years; and his three children, Melanie (Shawn) Lowey, Stephanie, Jeffrey; and his grandchildren, Payton and Janelle. Bill is also survived by his sister, Linda (Wilf) Angus; and his three brothers; and many nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Susan (Hugh) White, Donna, Judy (Paul) White; and nephews, Robert and Jason.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, George and Irene; brother, Marty; and his mother and father-in-law, Don and Fay Cooper.
Bill used to love ten pin bowling over the years; he even worked at Chateau and La Verendrye Lanes for a few years, drilling bowling balls. Bill left that profession and started as a vehicle disabler; he was a mechanic at heart. He started with his dad out at the farm, then years later he went to school for his mechanics diploma.
A few years down the line Bill went through heart surgery, and shortly after he retired. Bill and Cheryl were already living with Cheryl's dad, who had Alzheimer's disease. Bill stayed home with Dad while Cheryl went to work, until Dad went to Park Manor Nursing Home before he passed away. This took a toll on him worse than Cheryl.
After Dad's passing, Bill and Cheryl moved to Windsor Park for the last few years. Bill used to love taking Sadie, their pug, out for walks every day; it gave him something to do while Cheryl was at work.
According to Bill's wishes cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
We would also like to thank Dave, our friend and neighbour, for his assistance, and to the paramedics who tried so hard to bring Bill back to Cheryl.
