RONALD LESLIE BASERABA
May 20, 1945 - February 28, 2020
He will be sadly missed by his wife Sandra, of 52 years, his children: Daryl (Paula), Kennedy and Malone; Cory (Angie), Zander, Evan and Hayden; Aaron (Lisa), Dylan and Adam; Elana (Harvey), Emily and Avery.
Les was born in Dauphin and raised on the family farm. He graduated from Winnipegosis Collegiate and moved to Winnipeg where he attended Red River College and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After briefly working as an accountant for the Federal Government, he earned his CMA designation and joined the Province of Manitoba, working many years as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Agriculture. Les retired in 2000 and enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle at the family cottage on Pinawa Bay in Lac du Bonnet. In 2009, Les and Sandra moved out to the lake full time. Les found great pleasure barbecuing and boating with his family and friends. He took great pride tending to his perfect lawn, moving his sprinklers, and playing with his many woodpiles to make sure the wood stove fire was always burning. Les and Sandy enjoyed travelling, wintering in Texas and Florida, and the occasional casino visit.
We miss you deeply and you will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.
Les was cremated in Texas after a final farewell from his wife and children. A Funeral Mass and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Pinawa, MB.
Donations can be made in Les's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or STARS Air Ambulance.

Dear Sandy, Daryl, Cory, Aaron, Elana & families Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you on your great loss of a husband, father and grandfather. It was shocking news to us. We remember his sense of humour. He told us that he was listening to our new Christmas CD while cruising down the river in his boat in the middle of July. May the angels now sing for him. With love and caring. Marvin & Mary - Posted by: Marvin & Mary Procyshyn Dauphin (Sandra is our first cousin and bridesmaid) on: Mar 11, 2020
Sandy, Elana and entire family. It’s been a long time ago now but one of my all time favourite vacations was tagging along with Elana and joining your family in Florida. Mr. B was so much fun to be around, was a master on the BBQ, had such a jovial memorable laugh, (which I think Elana may have inherited) and made me feel like part of the Baseraba clan. It was a pleasure to be part of that. My sincerest sympathies, Lori Macario - Posted by: Lori Macario (Friend of Elana ) on: Mar 11, 2020
