November 19, 1933 - March 4, 2020

The Eyolfson family is saddened to announce that Dad, with his characteristic stoic strength and courage, entered the Spirit World on March 4, 2020.
He leaves to mourn Michael (Judy), Marian (deceased Murray Bruyere), Anthony (Christie), Neil (Karen), Derek (Maureen), Stephanie, Aurora, Ragnar and Bridget (Joe Courchene), as well as 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Connie, his parents, Harold and Marian, his grandsons, Thor and Mike, and his son-in-law Murray.
Dad was born and raised in Steep Rock, MB at the Shiells homestead and spent many summers in Lundar with his Eyolfson grandparents. He was in the R.C.A.F. for five years. It was during his service he met Connie. After they married, they lived in Powerview and Fort Whyte until settling in Traverse Bay in 1963. He loved being a commercial fisherman so much that he taught himself how to build commercial fishing boats. He was a hard worker who was successful at everything he tried his hand at. He loved music, laughter, a quick wit, nature, and his independence.
In June of 2009 he suffered a massive stroke that vastly changed his life. The family wishes to thank the George M. Guimond Care Home staff and management and Dr. Hugo Lambrechts for their excellent compassion and care of our dad.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020, at St. Alexander Church in Sagkeeng, MB with Eric Courchene officiating, assisted by Fr. Augustine. Pallbearers will be his granddaughters and grandsons. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the the service. Interment will follow at Ste. Marguerite's Church in Traverse Bay and luncheon at the Victoria Beach Community Centre.
