I met Joe when I was probably around 6 years old when my family moved to East St. Paul in 1969. My sisters went to school with his sister Rosemary. Didn't see him for many years, after my family moved back to "the city" in 1977. Ran into him many times over the years most recently in the last few at Jets games and Home Depot. Always a big smile on the face of a friend I knew over 50 years. I'm gonna miss that smile. I knew he wasn't well and lately wondered why I hadn't seen any Facebook posts for quite some time so I went to his page and saw some posts. So sorry you had to go Joe--God's speed, and my condolences to your wife Allison. - Posted by: Mendy Wolchock Moroz (Friend) on: May 22, 2020

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with Allison for many years and was fortunate enough to meet Joe at numerous Westeel Christmas parties. It was easy to see that Allison and Joe shared a special bond and truly loved eachother and their precious dogs. Allison, my heart is breaking for you and I just can't imagine the pain and heartache you must be going through. Please know that I'm thinking of you and your family and sending you my deepest sympathy. Rest in peace Joe.đ - Posted by: Erin Crozier (Friend and former co-worker of Allison) on: Apr 01, 2020

My condolences to the family. Growing up in East St. Paul Wadeâs friends accepted me and I gained a wonderful group of âbig brothersâ. Although years take us all in different directions. There is always a connection to this crew and I was sad to hear of his passing. RIP. A very sad day for the East St. Paul established families. The Barons, Smiths, Taylors, the Raries, Penners, the list goes on with the people he knew. Everyone knew the Payjacks. And their sleds. I attended (as did my other 4 brothers) DR F.W.L Hamilton, Robert Andrew, Munroe Junior High then River East schools with Joe and his siblings. 6 kids? in that family. Joe was always active in every event including schoolground skirmishes. As life has it I would not see much of Joe but would always seem to bump into him unexpectedly. Smilin' Joe I thought. Last we talked was at the Transcona legion where he was having fun doing the legion thing. Maybe we should all have his upbeat take on life. Too early to leave. But you are in good hands now. - Posted by: Ken Hanuschuk (School friend) on: Mar 10, 2020

I first met Joe fifty years ago on the hockey rink at East St. Paul C.C. after my family moved to the municipality. He was one of my first friends, we would spend many years playing hockey either on teams or after school at the C.C. One year that stands out was when we were 15 years old, five of us from East St. Paul played together on the River East Mauraders team. Too young to drive so we did a lot of car pooling to get back and forth from games. We spoke off and on through LinkedIn, he was particularly happy when he heard I had joined the legion, I know it was an important part of his life. I am saddened to learn of my childhood friends passing. Gone way too soon, rest in peace Joe, our paths will cross again someday, likely at a hockey game. - Posted by: Wade Ireland (Friend) on: Mar 09, 2020

Allison I just read Joeâs obituary in the paper and I am so sorry for your loss. You and Joe purchased the house on Le Peress from Morris and I Too bad things did not work out with Morris and I because I was heartbroken to let the house go, however after meeting you and Joe I knew the house would love the new owners. You must have heard that Morris passed away 3 years ago. You and Joe made a lot of memories together and I hope those memories help you through this difficult time. My condolences to Allison and family. I met Joe when I moved to ESP as a teen. Joe and the gang (Harper, Bell & me) would hitch rides to McD to hang out and find parties. We also did a lot of snowmobiling back then winning a high school snow derby together, I still have the picture of us. Joe got me a job with his dad and brothers in the family biz, hard workers, I lasted one day. We also curled together and competed against each other as adults, trying to get to the big show. We drifted apart over the years but would bump into each other at the odd Jet or Bomber game and it was as if we were never apart. We always had a good laugh and that's how I'll remember Joe. Laughing and smiling. RIP - Posted by: Ray Mills (friend) on: Mar 07, 2020

Joe and Allison, Dixie and Snickers. Lived next door to us years ago. Will never forget the time Dixie and Snickers came over to our place such little precious bundles of fur, Joe just loved his babies, we would occasionally have a visit or have a pat over the fence. Joe and I had many talks over the fence - he talked about Allison, his Dad, Family lots of stories he shared with me. He always made me laugh. Allison, we have not seen you in a long time. Thinking of you, so sorry Joe had been ill, Iâm sure he was just content to be at home with you Dixie and Snickers. Will miss Joe at the Legion he was so proud of his involvement with the Legion. I would see him at the legion on Remembrance Day when our family would attend as my Father fought in World War II to remember him and the many soldiers who sacrificed their lives for us. Allison take care may you find strength knowing Joe is free of pain and watching down on you from above. Rest In Peace Joe, I sure enjoyed our talks together. Take care Allison â€ïžđ¶đ¶xoxo come drop in at our place on Glenwood Cres sometime . Sorry I will be unable to attend Joeâs memorial service. I never met Joseph, but he was always supportive and offering to help me. He would always offer advice, suggestions and rides if I needed them. Sadly, I chose to suffer alone and struggle and never had the opportunity to meet him. Joseph was a very good guy with a kind heart who said my Facebook cancer stories inspired him, he showed me kindness in his offers to help me, offers to take me shopping, and the " did you watch the Jets game?" I was missing his little notes and likes and messages and was shocked and saddened to read of his passing. - Posted by: Ron Halcro (Facebook friend cancer.) on: Mar 07, 2020
