MARGARET GLENNIE
(nee WARNUK)
Marge was predeceased by her husband James, son Jim, and sisters, Eva van Essen and Lily Sexton.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Grant (Belinda) and Rob (Shannon), as well as by her grandchildren, James, Kurt (Christine), Jordan, Brett, Taylor, Aron, and great-granddaughter Andi Lee, her sister Bernice McKay, and niece Heather Armstrong.
Marge worked for many years alongside her sister Lily at Salisbury House and then Safeway. When her children were older she decided to go back to school and obtained her hairdressing diploma from Red River College. She immediately found employment as a hairdresser by taking over the hairdressing shop at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, where she worked until her retirement.
Marge and Jim were longtime summer residents at Winnipeg Beach starting out at Wildwood Trailer Park, then eventually buying a seasonal home next to the park to stay close to their lifelong and dear park friends. When Marge retired she would stay at the "beach", which she absolutely adored, from April to the end of October, weather permitting.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.

Condolences to Grand Adam and Robbie. Loved all these women very much. Margie and I were the closest and so enjoyed visiting her and Eva at the beach a few years ago. One of her favourite expressions was [ you could fall into a manure pile and come up wearing diamonds] Margie also took on big business when they were planning to close the apartment block. My biggest surprise was to see her on tv. There will be lots of laughter in heaven. RIP my friend - Posted by: Lucille Freeman (Cousin) on: Mar 11, 2020

I remember many visits with Aunt Marge coming to Ontario. And then visiting Aunt Marge with my mom and dad at her cottage. She would tell us stories and make us laugh. She would talk so much about her 3 boys and there family. She loved them dearly. My thoughts are with you all in this very difficult situation Angela Pringle - Posted by: Angela Pringle (Great niece ) on: Mar 10, 2020

Aunt Margie was always so good to me, she always made me feel loved. We had many long phone conversations which always had a lot of humour and sometimes seriously ones too. Aunt Margie religiously sent me birthday wishes every year it really did mean a lot to me to know how much she cared, She had a beautiful smile and spirit about her, she was so proud of her family and I loved to here her stories of her life, may she brighten up another world in heaven, thinking of all of you at this most difficult time, may memories stay close to your hearts, love Debbie - Posted by: Debbie Cozens (Niece) on: Mar 10, 2020

My favourite Summer memories as a child were spending it with my grandmother. She would make me Carnation hot cocoa and french toast (my favourites) in the morning, and from there we would go to the lake, while I took to the water and would transform into a fish. I could spend hours swimming, while she sat in her lawn chair getting her feet wet in the water. She wasn't much for swimming, but she did love to take it all in. The beach life and just being out in the cabin. It made her happy. Especially if she had one of her lady friends from the city visiting her. From then we would go into town, and get some candy/food, and sometimes we would even hit up a yard sale over the weekend. She loved her thrift shopping. Margaret Glennie was the final grandparent I had. So to lose that connection with that generation is difficult. She was a very interesting and entertaining lady. She had a silver tongue. That lady could light up an otherwise dark room with her story telling and laughter. She was loved by her many friends. People around her adored her because she would do anything for you. She wore her heart on her sleeve. My grandma did not hold back on the truth either. If she liked you, she made it apparent. She was fearless, kind, and generous. Her personality type was definitely an extroverted one. She had a life to her that I seldom saw of anyone her age. She was also hilarious... she could make anyone laugh with her amazing sense of humour. She was sharp, even until her almost 92 years of age. Grandma would have turned 92 next month. She was an outstanding lady and deserved more time on this planet. Grandma Glennie, you will be missed as you left an indelible mark on your family and to those who came across your path. May you rest peacefully and you will forever be in our thoughts. - Posted by: James (grandson) on: Mar 10, 2020
