On the morning of March 2, 2020, David Liang peacefully slipped away, surrounded by his loving wife Solange, and children, Grace, Roy and Joanne.
David was predeceased by his parents and his sister.
Born April 24, 1931 in Hong Kong, David endured many hardships and triumphs during his life, living through the Second World War and his immigration to Canada, where he attended United College in Winnipeg.
He met Solange Chan in 1964, and they were married blissfully in 1966. They made Gimli, MB their home, and had many wonderful years raising their children along the shores of Lake Winnipeg.
David taught sciences at Gimli Composite High School for 30 years and had many touching, and some humorous moments during that time.
To the staff at Betel Home, our heartfelt thanks for the care and attention you gave him over the last eight years of his life.

Mr. Laing has a special place in my heart. He taught me well and because of him I have a nickname. EBBER. He would pronounce my last name as Ebberson. The guys in class caught this and gave me the EBBER monicker. He was a great person and I will remember him fondly. - Posted by: Glenn Albertson (He was my Science Teacher in grade 9) on: Mar 16, 2020
