My family and I were very saddened to hear of Nick's passing. He and my Mom Johanna were good friends and I was alway happy to sit with them at their dining room table while visiting my Mom. He had great stories to impart which I read in detail in the book he wrote and which I was honoured to receive. I am so happy he joined us for birthday celebrations and were always happy to bring him some of his favourites like herring and koulbasa. We really appreciated him looking out for my Mom. Condolences to the family. RIP Nick - Posted by: Connie van Loon (friend) on: Mar 20, 2020

I was so sad when I heard the passing of my buddy Nick. I absolutely adored nick he was like my second dad. I enjoy bringing him sandwiches when I knew he would be working or homemade soups, stew or whatever I was making and then of course there was the sweets he liked too. I was honoured when I got one of Nick’s book he wrote and I’ll cherish it always. My only wish was that I would have loved to visit my buddy more than I did, but with my illness it prevented me from going there, so Nick you will always be on my mind and forever In my heart. R.I.P.
