JAMES HUE THOMAS DYKES
June 26, 1951 - March 13, 2020

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of James, on Friday, March 13, 2020, with family by his side.
Jim was raised in Brooklands. He was the only boy in a household of five girls. He was his sisters' protector. His children and his grandchildren were his everything.
Jim was predeceased by his fathers, Thomas Dykes and Wilhelm Osbahr. Jim leaves to mourn his children and grandchildren, Amber (Trevor), Hunter, James, Ayden, Connor, Derek (Breanna), Dallas, and Callum; mother Elizabeth Howton; sisters, Doris (Jim), Willy, Sheila (Danny), Kathy (Tim), and Chris (Terry), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sincere thank you to Riverview Health Centre, CancerCare Manitoba, and Dr. Paul Daeninck.
A private family celebration will take place at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I grew up with Jim, and shared many adventures with him - we were the Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn of Brooklands. We lost touch occasionally but always came back in contact with each other. I just had a phone call with him about a month before his passing. He has left me with a lot of memories of our growing up together. Fly with Angels my brother your spirit is free to watch over the ones you love. - Posted by: Glen Pauls (Childhood friend ) on: Mar 28, 2020

  • I met Jim many years ago. I was best friends with his son James. I slept over at their place many times. We had some real good times hanging out and playing pool and video games all night. I always felt welcomed to hang out at their place. Jim was a loving father, he gave his kids everything he could in life, he had a big heart and was a nice guy! He will be sadly missed by all his children, grandchildren and many friends who's paths he crossed along the way. RIP Jimbo! Gabe - Posted by: Gabriel (Friends ) on: Mar 21, 2020

  • What I know of Jim is that he loved his family without limitations. He lived to see his grandchildren happy and did everything in his power to see them smile. He will be remembered lovingly by those he knew and his children will cherish every second they had with them. Rest in Peace Jim. - Posted by: Kim Pereira (Amber's sister in law) on: Mar 21, 2020
