LAWRENCE HART

It is with much sadness that the family announces the passing of Lawrence Hart on March 19, 2020, at Actionmarguerite, at the age of 85 years.
He was a loving and dutiful husband and father with a wonderful sense of humour and will be sorely missed by his children, Laura and Lawrence Jr. (Patrice), sisters, Annie Vialard and Betty Turnock, sisters-in-law, Margaret Didenko, Irene Robinson, Virginia Hart, Lorraine Hart and Ada Hart, brother-in-law Al Budnick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Ann, parents, Carl and Anna Hart, brothers, Milton, Jerry, Tom and Charlie, in-laws, Mary and Alex Budnik, Andrew Didenko, Bill Turnock, Gaston Vialard, Roy Robinson, George and Thelma Budnik and Florence Hart.
Lawrence was born in Minitonas, MB and moved to Winnipeg while still in elementary school. He attended Gladstone and Earl Grey Schools and graduated from Kelvin High School. Lawrence eventually became a Real Estate Broker and, along with his father Carl, started the family business. He was the owner of Hart Realty on Corydon Avenue, a business through which he made and cultivated many friendships throughout his life. Lawrence enjoyed other people's company. He was charitable with his willingness to help others and always up for a coffee and a good laugh. He loved to travel, with Hawaii being one of his favourite destinations. He enjoyed curling with his brothers, woodworking at home, and was a decent snooker player too.
The family would like to extend special thanks to caregiver Philip Hayes of Home Instead who was a great comfort and companion to Lawrence in his final years, as well as all the kind and helpful staff at Actionmarguerite and Riverwood Square.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lawrence to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
Given the seriousness of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the family wishes to postpone a Celebration of Life service until such a time that will safely allow gatherings.

  • Lawrence was very good to me over the years, both in looking after my real estate needs and referrals. He and Dave Blais were old school. Clients first and good things will follow. My condolences to the family for your loss. - Posted by: Barrie Nelson (client and busniss assocaite.) on: Mar 24, 2020

  • My condolences to Lawrence’s family. I have known Lawrence ‘forever’ it seems in Real Estate. Lawrence was a good ®️Realtor and a pleasure to deal with if you were the ‘other’ agent. It seemed he was ageless and always treated people with respect in a dignified manner. It must run in the family as Gerry was also a terrific gentleman. - Posted by: Ron Derksen (Friend in Real Estate) on: Mar 24, 2020
