Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Cathy, Greg and Family. I have many fond memories of Mike and Marion. We were friends and neighbours growing up in Foley, Mb. and continued our friendship through life, for over 60 years. Wishing you God's peace in your time of sorrow. - Posted by: Esther Cherniak and Family (Friend) on: Apr 01, 2020

  • To: Everyone who knew Mike. While I have already shared a tribute/life story about my relationship with Mike Dudar, I neglected to include how in his mature years and still living in Manitoba, he was a charter member of "SOUP"....the...Son's Of Ukrainian Pioneers...a social gang which got together monthly as retired Ukrainians to share life experiences, etc. Mike even asked me to be one of their guest speakers which I had to decline. - Posted by: Myron Masnyk (Friend and co-worker) on: Mar 29, 2020

  • Mike was my Scout leader when I was a teenager. Also I knew his wife from the school as she was an aide. Greg was around with his Dad at Scouts, Gord too! When I became a FreeMason, I met Mike again at a lodge and it turns out he grew up with Fred Slater, my Lodge Brother. Mike was always strict but you could tell he cared. He was a great man! - Posted by: Ken Kowaluk (Former Scout leader) on: Mar 28, 2020

  • CATHY, GREG, AND CLOSE FRIENDS! I HAVE KNOWN MIKE SINCE I WAS A CHILD AND MIKE WAS A NEWLY-WED. THEY CAME TO OUR FARM TO PICK RASPBERRIES AND THE GREAT CONVERSATIONS WE HAD WERE ANYTHING BUT HOW TO PICK RASPBERRIES,AND MY GREATEST OUT OF SCHOOL EDUCATION AT THAT TIME WAS GIVEN TO ME THEN. MIKE WAS A TRUE SCHOLAR AND A TRUE GENTLEMAN IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. BEST OF ALL, PERHAPS, IS THAT MIKE WAS PASSIONATELY UKRAINIAN AND IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS WE EXCHANGED QUITE A FEW WORDS IN UKRAINIAN OVER THE PHONE. EVERYONE WHO KNEW MIKE WILL MISS HIM. REST IN PEACE DEAR FRIEND. ВІЧНАЯ ПАМЯТЬ! - Posted by: NESTOR KRAWEC (CLOSE FRIENDS FOR A LIFETIME) on: Mar 27, 2020

  • My condolences to the family. - Posted by: John S. Zabudney (My Godfather) on: Mar 27, 2020

  • To: Cathy, Greg and your families; Please accept my most sincere condolences on the passing of your father, "Mike". I first met him in 1963 when we both worked at Maple Leaf Mills in Winnipeg. Soon after, he became my mentor, teaching me the "tricks of the trade" in selling flour and other milled products to clients in South Eastern Manitoba and Western Ontario. We traveled together, dined together and even got stranded in a blizzard south of Central Patricia, Ontario. Mike and I most enjoyed our calls on general stores in South Eastern Manitoba, especially Dominion City, Vita, Tolstoi, Sundown, etc. We became good friends. With your mother Marion, my late wife, Pat and I partied, played countless games of "diminishing whist", ate some kobassa and yes...even drank some good old homemade hooch. I have many great memories of a gentleman who was also a proud Ukrainian. May he rest in peace. Myron Masnyk in Mississauga, ON - Posted by: Myron Masnyk (Friend and co-worker) on: Mar 27, 2020
