SLAVKO SOLIC
June 25, 1934 - March 20, 2020

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Slavko (Stan) Solic on March 20, 2020 at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg.
Stan was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; extended family and friends.
Stan emigrated to Winnipeg from the former Yugoslavia in his early 20's and began a long career in the local textile industry. He enjoyed playing chess, watching soccer, spending time with his grandchildren and was a self taught and avid home renovator. His selfless and tireless work ethic was an inspiration to all around him.

Condolences can be left on his online tribute page at Friends Funeral Service.

  • Sorry to hear the news of your loss. He was a good friend to me and was there for me when I was alone and needing friendship. God be with you in the family. - Posted by: Gus Kokoschke (friend) on: Apr 11, 2020

  • Dear Marie and family. I was so very saddened to hear about Stan. He was such a kind, helpful, caring man who could fix anything and sew anything. He was so helpful to my mom, Yvonne who he met through his former neighbour Evelyn. My mom was a senior who lived in her house until she was 94. Stan helped her for many years with snow, grass and all types of chores and errands. We shared a lot of chats and laughs with him. He is remembered with great fondness and I send my deepest condolences to his family. RIP Stan. - Posted by: Donna Kolbuck-Street (Friend (Yvonne’s daughter)) on: Apr 04, 2020

  • Although we parted ways many years ago, he continued to be a part of my life thru his children. We still enjoyed many good times together with our children and grandchildren , He was always a hard working person, most times not taking time off for holidays. I thank him for our 3 beautiful children we had together and he will always be remembered thru his children and what he had accomplished in his life. - Posted by: eunice bawtree (Ex wife) on: Mar 31, 2020

  • Mel, Elamine and boys, our sincere condolences on the passing of Stan whom we affectionately called each other ‘neighbour’ as if it were our given names. Stan was hard working and forward looking inspiring his family, now our neighbours, to continue his ethics and quality of life. We are thankful and grateful for our walk in life with a great guy.
