MARGARET ANN TURNER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of "Marg," beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Marg passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the age of 76.
She was predeceased by her husband Dick; son Daryl and her parents, Alex and Olive Sim.
She will be profoundly missed by her daughter Lori Pokornik (Mike); her grandchildren, Connor and Hailey and many special friends that meant so much to her.
Marg was born and raised in Winnipeg, where she met the love of her life, Dick. They were married for 30 happy years before his passing. Marg loved being a homemaker and she was extraordinary at it. Whether at their home on Freemont Bay, on McIntosh Street in Headingley, or more recently on Augier Avenue, Marg was always busy cooking, baking, canning, gardening, or working around the house. However, she was never too busy for a cup of coffee and a chat with family and friends.
People were drawn to Marg's spunky personality and caring spirit. Her jobs in retail, most notably at Walmart, brought many special people into her life who became extended family. She was in her element when giving advice, sharing gossip, or just listening to friends over a cup of coffee.
Marg was very proud of her family, and she relished the role of Grandma. Her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. Marg would spoil her grandkids and brag about them to others every opportunity she got. In recent months, she loved the visits from her newest "grandchild," Sebastian.
A celebration of Marg's life will be held at a later date.
Mom, I will miss you every day, but know in my heart that you are watching over us with Dad and Daryl.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be made to D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre because she had such a love for animals, especially the four-legged ones in her life.
