RON NORMAND
June 2, 1956 – March 23, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ron at St. Boniface Hospital.
He will be mourned and his memories cherished by his soulmate of 39 years, Janet; by his children, Ron Jr. (Trisha), Jennifer, Cory (Lisa) and Jesse (Ana) and by his grandchildren, Jasmine, Cloe, Zachary and Kylee. He was so looking forward to the birth of Jesse and Ana's baby in June. He will be forever missed by his loving mother, Dorothy; by his brothers, Bob, David (Simone), Leonard (Kathleen), Claude (Donna) and Jean-Louis (Brenda) and by his sister, Donna (Renald). He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry (Bonita), Rod (Rhonda), Ken (Sjana), Val (Chris), Brenda (Brent) and Bob (Bonny) and also by his many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
Ron was predeceased by his father Robert; his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Pete Fehr and by his brother-in-law Jim.
Ron was a family man who loved his family dearly and continuously showed them his affection. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and he got down on their level to play with them. He was kind, generous and had a great sense of humour. He liked to tease and joke and was fun to be around. He befriended everyone he met. He enjoyed listening to music and woodworking. He loved the outdoors and liked hunting and fishing. After retirement, he took care of his family and home. He was a great cook who made delicious soups and bannock which he shared with his loved ones.
We love you and you will remain forever in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the health care workers at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion.
Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, in care of arrangements.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Janet I was saddened reading about the passing of Ron. I remember working with you, Ron, Cory and Bonita in New Bothwell winter of 98. Ron was always joking laughing and been a big kid while we were cutting up meat. It was always entertaining with you guys around. Cherish the memories! - Posted by: Louise Baber Filarczuk (Co-worker at country smoke house) on: Apr 02, 2020

  • We are so saddened for the loss of Ron, we all have so many great memories that we will cherish forever. Memories of parties at my grandparents house where we all danced up a storm, laughed and enjoyed such innocent fun. I can still see him dancing to “The Wanderer “ one of the favourite tunes we played. In later years barbecues at my parents home. We always enjoyed seeing Ron. Our thoughts are with Janet, his children, brothers and sister, and Auntie Dorothy. Thank you Ron for being part of our lives. - Posted by: Darlene Carrette Burling (Cousin) on: Mar 29, 2020
