RODNEY WILLIAM PEARSON

Mr. Rodney William Pearson of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the age of 80.
Rodney was born to parents, Wilhem and Bethel Pearson on July 13, 1939 in Eriksdale, MB. He moved to Winnipeg to work and soon after, met and married Doris in 1962. Together they made a home and had a daughter, Audrey and two sons, Robert and Arthur.
Rodney was a hard-working husband and father, a metal worker for Great West Metal for 37 years before his retirement in 1998. He loved playing guitar, listening to country music and taking his family on vacations in their trailer.
Rodney was predeceased by his father Wilhem; his mother Bethel; brothers, Stanley and Albert and one brother in infancy. He will be remembered by his wife Doris (nee Desjarlais); daughter Audrey (Doug); sons, Robert and Arthur (Keeley); grandchildren, Letitia, Robert and Zoe and great-grandchildren, Robert and Bryston.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge, especially the nurses and health care aides of the Evergreen Unit, whom Rodney came to know since moving there in 2017.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I grew up just down the road from Rodney, I remember as a child his booming laugh, he was a welcome visitor at our home. We called his Mom Bethal, Auntie. I was very young but have many good memories of Rodney. My condolences to your family. I am only sorry I am just learning of his passing. - Posted by: Bev Martens(Anderstedt) (Cousin my Grandma was Rodneyโ€™s Aunt) on: Aug 11, 2021

  • I was sadden at the passing of my uncle Rodney. Greatest memorty of growing up with his family is our many, many impromtu family jam sessions. Any time was an occassion for he and my dad (Albert) to get out the guitars and play well into the night with my Aunt Doris providing sandwiches as the late night lunch...basically our own family "social". You will be missed and my condolences to my cousins ! - Posted by: Maureen (Pearson) Nicholson (Niece) on: May 21, 2020

  • I was so sorry to hear your dad passed away. It was nice seeing him and your mom again and you too Audrey after all these years!! Your dad was so sweet and very friendly always waving to me in the dining room on his was to his table. He would often stop and chat with us before heading back to his room. Give your mom a kiss and a hug for me. Let her know I'm thinking of her. She was so good to me when I lost my dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. - Posted by: Shelley Brown (Dover) (Family Friend) on: Mar 28, 2020
