JOAN BILLEY

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of mom, Joan Billey. Mom was born on October 3, 1936 in Winnipeg, the daughter of Herbert and Jean Radley.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Nick Billey and her sister Barbara Gumany.
Mom leaves behind a son David Billey, daughter-in-law Christine Billey and and her grandson Ethan whom she was so proud of; brother Ron Radley (Susan) and brother Herb Radley; many nieces and nephews and a very close friend Marina Kowalke. Mom and Marina have been friends for over 60 years.
Mom worked for Manitoba Health from 1957 to 2001, a span of 44 years. Mom enjoyed spending time fishing. Whenever she had the chance to go, she always had her fishing rod and tackle ready to go.
A graveside interment will take place at a further date to be determined.
You're at peace now mom. Rest easy. We will miss you and always love you.

  • David, Christine, and Ethan, my condolences to you all. Even though we had never met, I just wanted to let you know that I worked with your Mom at Manitoba Health. My last year there was 1981. It was such a pleasure working with your Mom. After all these years, I still can remember her "fishing stories". - Posted by: Linda Stewart (co-worker at Manitoba Health) on: Mar 28, 2020

  • My deepest sympathy is extended to the Billey/Radley Families on the passing of your wonderful parent, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Joan. We were close friends since Grade 8 at Luxton School with a continuing friendship for over 70 years. The last number of years were difficult as we were unable to communicate as before and lived only with our thoughts and prayers for each other. Sincere condolences, Lydia MacKenzie - Posted by: Lydia MacKenzie (Friends since 1950) on: Mar 28, 2020
