Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My sincere condolences go to Ken’s family (he insisted I called him Ken even though I called him Mr. gray for so many years). Ken was a wonderful, kind, generous man. As I phoned to wish Ken a happy birthday today, I was saddened to discover that he passed away last March. I spoke to him about a month before he passed away to wish him a happy belated birthday as I did every year. I was introduced to Ken through Ann, when I was looking for someone to help me with accounting in my small business. Ken knew how much of a struggle it was to support a family with my small business and never charged me a penny as his generous gift to us. Ken always asked about each of my four kids and my wife to see how they were. Along with being my accountant, he was a friend. Right into his 90’s, Ken and I would meet for coffee occasionally. He referred to me as “young feller’” even though I was nearing my 50’s! He was a wonderful man and will surely be missed. - Posted by: James Carter (Friend) on: Jan 10, 2021

  • To the Gray family: Ken will be fondly remembered for his engaging personality and ability to interact with all ages. We enjoyed our many conversations on varied subjects. Never one to let his age stop him from his daily exercises at the gym or quiet time reading at the Clubhouse. Ken and Anne were an inspiration to never let age get in the way of being young at heart. - Posted by: Linda & Butch (neighbour) on: Apr 01, 2020

  • Coleen, Lynda and Diane: I am saddened to learn of your Dad's passing and would like to extend to you my deepest sympathy. I met your Dad many years ago at my cousin Anne's cottage down at Matlock. He was such a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor and I so enjoyed his company. It gives me great peace to know that they are together again. I hope memories of happier times will be of comfort to you now. Sincerely Ruth Collier, Delta, B.C. - Posted by: Ruth Collier (Anne Dogerty's cousin) on: Mar 29, 2020

  • I do not know your dad Diane. But I noticed the last name GRAY and decided to check it out. I am glad because I now can send YOU DIANE,COLLEEN AND LYNDA my sincere condolences for the loss of your dad. A loss soon after the loss of your mom, a neighbor on the Abington Rd bay . How difficult that must be. One after the other like that. I am so sorry. For I sensed in you Diane a big and tender heart. Life has it's own agenda. And we are never quite ready. So I come to wish you all the best while taking care of your fragile hearts and each other. 🤝 - Posted by: Rachelle Guay (A new acquaintance to Diane) on: Mar 28, 2020

  • Ken was a lovely man and great host at the Christmas parties he and Ann used to have. I was included in their gatherings as I was the driver for my parents and I am blessed that I got that special time. He will be missed by many. Deepest sympathy from my family to Ken's family... - Posted by: Sidney Macaw (friend of Ann and Ken's) on: Mar 28, 2020
