TAWNA LEIGH MURDOCH
October 9, 1966 - March 24, 2020
Left to mourn are her siblings, Marcy (Sander), Michael (Debbie), Marcellus, David and Star, father Marcellus, uncle Ves, aunts, Nel and Barb (Guy), cousins, Karen (Jay) and Glen (Ainsley), her two favourite 'little' men, Joseph and Graham, family friends, Barbara Paquin (Greg) and Patty.
Tawna's passions were travelling and people. She was a devoted caregiver for many years to her predeceased mother. Her sweet, positive, gracious nature, contagious laugh, and zest for life made it easy for her to make lifelong friends across various geographies.
By request, no service will be held.
We will miss you dearly and remember you always. You are in our hearts forever.
We love you to the moon and back,
to the moon and back,
to the moon and back and beyond...

I was good friends with Tawna in Winnipeg in the 1980’s and 1990’s. We worked together at the Convalescent Home in Winnipeg and she lived close by. I got to know her family - her mom, sister, brothers. I lost touch with Tawna over time. I remember a camping trip to Grand Beach, trips to the beach, and her favourite pierogies at Lanky’s At the Beach. Tawna liked to have fun, she liked to laugh, she was kind and caring. My deepest and sincere condolences to Tawna’s family. Tawna and I met at my birthday party in Toronto about 20 years ago through a mutual friend. We were the same age and we developed a close friendship with lots of great memories. Before moving back to Winnipeg to care for her ailing mother, Tawna stayed with me and my family for a few months. She lovingly called me “Sis”. In more recent years, I would see Tawna whenever she passed through Pearson Airport en route or returning from an exotic trip. She loved to travel, shop and insisted we eat at either Popeyes or the Keg whenever she was in town. Her radiant smile and kind heart was offered generously to those she loved. RIP Tawna until we meet again with our Saviour Jesus Christ. Love you Sharon - Posted by: Sharon Batchelor (Friend) on: Jun 15, 2020

Tawna and I met in a beautiful random moment in Toronto many years back, where we empowered each other and became sisters in that moment. Her nurturing spirit and endearing smile is what I will miss most. Thank you Tawna for the time you blessed me with. I will love you always and forever. Rest now Angel its your time. - Posted by: Lindsay Lodenquai (Like family!) on: Apr 04, 2020

So sorry to hear of Tawna’s passing. We lived next door to the Murdochs when we were growing up. My older sister Judy and Irene were good friends and both had their first babies Tawna and Belinda around the same time. I remember well Irene’s positive disposition and her gentleness. I was so sad to hear of her illness and ultimate passing. But I was so impressed with how Tawna took care of her mom. I actually babysat sweet little Tawna when she was a baby, and I was so amused by the way she sucked her little fingers rather than her thumb, and how she scooted around the floor on her bottom rather than crawling. Always a unique and special girl. Steve Kovacs shares in sending Condolences to the family. May she Rest In Peace free from life’s pain and sadness. - Posted by: Darlene Bremner (Kilfoyle) (Neighbour and family friend to mom Irene) on: Apr 01, 2020

I was so sorry to hear of Tawna's passing and remember well when she was first born, visiting Irene and family (Uncle Bob and Aunt Elsie) to see the new baby. She was so very sweet. I have not been in close touch with the family but want you to know that I certainly was aware how lovely a person Tawna was. I remember that she was so very close and helpful to her Mum and such a warm person when we met her at Alan's Memorial service. Unfortunately I had not been aware of any gathering after Irene or Aunt Elsie's passing, so was unable to meet the family then, but still hold you all in my warmest thoughts. Special thoughts to Barbara, also my first cousin, whom I have not seen in many years. I hope you are weathering this very difficult time. Perhaps it will be possible to visit at some point when it is safe to do so. I still live in Headingley and can be contacted at margaretjmills@shaw.ca Blessings to you all, Margaret and Peter Mills and family - Posted by: Margaret Mills (nee Zimmerman) (first cousin to Irene Murdoch) on: Apr 01, 2020
