JEAN MARY GOODFELLOW
(MCMASTER)

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Jean Goodfellow on March 29, 2020, at 92 years young. Jean spent the previous day reminiscing with all her kids.
Jean was born on February 26, 1928, in Fort William, ON. She married Jack Goodfellow in 1948, they celebrated 65 years together before Jack's passing in 2014. They had five children between 1949 and 1958. Jean and Jack moved to Winnipeg in 1964. They settled in Transcona and it was the perfect place to raise their family.
Jean and Jack had 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. They were very active in all their lives and had a unique bond that was evident through the love and respect they shared.
Jean had many creative talents and her flair for decorating made her home cozy and welcoming. She was a very social person and loved to spend time with family and many wonderful friends. She enjoyed darts, cards, senior gatherings and any activities that she could interact with others.
She was a beautiful, smart and loving woman. She was our pillar of strength and she was extremely proud of her family.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Jack, parents, Ran and Cora McMaster, sister Dolly and Ab Bailey, sister-in-law Erva and Jerry Zager and numerous aunts and uncles.
Jean will be dearly missed by her children, son Don and Iris, son Bob and Deb, daughter Bev and Art Pitre, daughter Deb and Glenn Moore, daughter Cathy Nykoluk and Richard Mueller; grandchildren, Lana (Bill), Mick, Nicole (Danny), Sandee (Chris), Brad (Marnie), Dan, Jeff (Amber), Sharla, Reg (Julieth), Bryan (Lisa), Ashley (Matt), Tom (Jenna) and Mike; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Myles (Lauren), Jason, Kyess (Brooklyn), Kenna, Sofi, Asher, Braylon, Jack, Myelle, Hudson, Josie, Isla, Connor, Tayah and Jack, as well as the Bailey, Drinkwalter and Zager families.
Special thanks to Dr. Sharon Frechette. Thanks also to the caregivers at St. Boniface Hospital and Health Sciences Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.

  • Being from Transcona and having family members with close ties, I was introduced to this wonderful lady many years ago, but I really got to know Jean when we worked together at the Bay. Her smile and beautiful personality is what I remember most about her. She once gave me a picture of Tom Selleck that she took in Hawaii, and to this day, when I come across that picture, I smile and think of her fondly. I am so sorry for your loss, but how lucky you all have been to be blessed by having her in your life. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Pauline (Co-worker and friend) on: Apr 04, 2020
