DIANNE ELIZABETH ORMISTON
Dianne was born in Montreal on April 4, 1955, and settled in Winnipeg in 1962 with her parents (Dorothy and Peter), sisters (Karen, Joan and Barbara) and brothers (David and Warren). Dianne was a mother to four daughters, Sarah (Johnathon), Andrea (Chad), Kendra (Kreg) and Christine (Kyle); and grandmother to two granddaughters, Elliot and Olive.
Anyone who knew Dianne knew she was a kind hearted, selfless and generous person who put everyone's needs before her own. She was the type of person who spent hours every spring picking up litter around her neighbourhood, who donated her time and money to those less fortunate, including Winnipeg Harvest, and who never visited her granddaughters without bringing a new toy or book. Dianne was an avid sports fan and loved watching any CFL game (but especially the Bombers) and curling. She loved playing the piano, reading books and could spend hours on her puzzles. Dianne greatly enjoyed going for lunch or catching up with her dear friends, Linda, Roberta, Lori, Judy and Susan. Dianne will be greatly missed by Rob and the whole Ormiston family, her siblings, friends and especially her girls who were not ready to say goodbye to their Mom.
At Dianne's request no funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dianne's name to Winnipeg Harvest or the Health Sciences Centre Foundation.

Dianne was one of my best friends. I met her during my last years in high school when I was going through some very difficult times. She gave so much to me and every one around her. I haven't lived in Winnipeg in almost 40 years but during every visit with her, I was struck by the depth of her heart and soul. My sincere condolences to Rob, her girls, and the rest of her family. - Posted by: Darlene Reid (Friend) on: Apr 12, 2020

Dianne, you were such a wonderful friend, a great mom and a loving nana. I left Winnipeg almost forty years ago and yet each time we got together for a long telephone chat or a leisurely lunch it was like we had never been apart. I’m really going to miss you. We all will. - Posted by: Susan Preston (Friend) on: Apr 07, 2020

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Diane, I can tell by her beautiful obituary, that I would have loved to have known her. What I do know is that if her beautiful daughter Christine is anything like her Mama... she must have been a beautiful soul! Your legacy lives on in your beautiful daughters, grandchildren and grandchildren yet to come. Sending love and light to comfort you all at this heavy time... The love to fill the empty space in your hearts, the light to illuminate the dark moments that will continue to come in the next few days weeks and months to come. God Bless the grieving 💔 - Posted by: Jolie and Nick (Friends of Christine and Kyle) on: Apr 05, 2020
