April 1, 1935 - March 31, 2020

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; Bernice Forlanski passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 84 years of age. Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep at Concordia Hospital after a battle with cancer.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children left to mourn, Debbie (Andrew), Lenard (Barb), Eugene, Ted (Brenda); grandchildren, Lee-Ann, Robert and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Riley, Dylan, Jessica and Avery. Mom was predeceased by her oldest son Allen (Debbie).
Mom was loved by everyone she met and adored for her smile, brightness, sweet positive nature, kindness and generosity of spirit. For anyone who knew Mom they would know her zest for life, incredible strength and perseverance over hardships and down to earth nature. Her beautiful laughter and smile, love of birds and animals, gardening and canning, simplicity and simple pleasures were infectious. Mom loved classical elegance, petite dainty trinkets and loved bling - our little fashionista. Mom enjoyed travelling, puzzles and TV: cooking/travel/home renos/Rachel/Ellen/Oprah/reality. Mom took a keen interest in world politics and current affairs; she never missed a beat and always had her opinion.
Always up for adventure, Mom travelled widely in her later years with her daughter at every opportunity and she was a fun travelling companion. Born and raised on a farm, Mom also farmed and raised her children in Manitoba's Interlake Region. The country never left her soul. In every country she visited, she always had to see the local farms and compared what the cattle were like. Her sharp eyes always spotted a bird or animal at a distance. Wildlife and birds were drawn to her as though they knew of her gentle nature. Mom always had a thumbs up and a smile for all the truckers on the highways during road trips, often receiving enthusiastic responses. Mom was all about the common folk and the natural environment, a testament to her roots.

We will miss you dearly, love you always
and remember you for eternity.
We will meet again.

A private family graveside interment will be held during this time of public health conditions and restriction of gatherings.
