MARION GOLFMAN

After a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's, with family "virtually" by her side, Marion passed away on March 28, 2020, in Winnipeg.
Beloved wife of Archie Cham. Loving mother and best friend to her daughter Michelle, and devoted and loving daughter of the late Joseph and Ina Alexander.
Marion was a warm, loyal, gentle, kind and selfless woman, always with a smile on her face and who touched the lives in a happy way of everyone she met.
Marion was beautiful, not only in spirit, but also in body. She was truly a stunning, head turning and gorgeous looking woman.
Marion was athletic, trim and fit and loved to walk outdoors. She never failed to walk her dogs, Fluffy and Jarvis, every single day, no matter what the weather, in sun, wind, rain or snow. If it was very cold, Marion would put little winter booties on their paws and warm winter doggie vests around their bodies and then out the door all three of them would all go.
Gardening was her passion, Marion loved to work in the garden, growing pretty flowers, delicious tomatoes and scrumptious peas. She took pride in her green thumb and our house was always filled with new flower arrangements.
Marion was never sick and never complained about aches and pains. She lived each day to the fullest.
Marion was ultra-organized with everything that she managed. For example, every dinner party we held at the house and there were many, she kept detailed notes of the food she prepared and all of the people who attended. She kept all of her notes nicely compiled by date in a three ring binder.
Marion was not a T.V. watcher, she was always busy working on her photo albums, organizing photographs of happy memories; trips that were taken to incredible locations around the world or of celebrations that had taken place at the house, birthdays, dinner parties and warm afternoons of barbequeing and swimming in the backyard pool.
If she wasn't working on her albums, you would find her in the flower garden....except she never missed an episode of the British T.V. show, Coronation Street.
A family graveside service took place in person and for those in "quarantine" the service was available by Zoom on March 31, 2020 at the Rosh Pina Memorial Park Cemetery in Winnipeg. In accordance with Marion's wishes and to honour the way that she lived, family and friends will be invited to a reception to celebrate Marion's life - date and time still to be determined and announced.
Marion's family is grateful for the kindness and exemplary care provided daily by Vivian Malapad and on weekends by Mylanie Blado Roxas at the Sharon Home, Simkin Centre. The family would also like to thank the numerous women who also cared for Marion, Marcela Fullante, Josefina Trinidad, Janine Malapad, Reme Gervacio and Teresita Villanueva.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in Marion's memory can be made to the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, Women's Endowment Fund, the Marion Golfman Fund, by mail at Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, 123 Dorchester Street, Suite C400, Winnipeg, MB, R3N 2B2 or by phone 204-477-7520, would be most appreciated by the family.
