ARMANDO RAPOSO CAMARA
May 21, 1947 - April 3, 2020
Armando was born in Feteiras, Sao Miguel, Açores. In 1964, he immigrated to Canada and later met the love of his life, Maria Helena Marques. They married in 1969, and over the next 51 years of marriage built a life full of love, family and laughter. Armando built an amazing career as a bricklayer, known as one of the best in the business, you may recall his famous two taps of trowel and yelling, "WHERE IS MY MUD!!!" or "E PA!". Armando built his career with bricks, not only a builder of homes - but he was a builder of family, relationships and community. This is his legacy.
Armando enjoyed watching soccer (Forca Benefica!), fishing, playing with his "fur-grandbaby" - Olive, making wine and chouriço, gardening and most importantly, spending time with the people who mean the most to him.
Armando leaves his loving wife, Helena; his children, George, Jessey (Natalie), Sylvia (Dino), Amanda (James); and grandchildren, Jasmine, Sterling, Venetia, Austin, Breahna, and Madelyn. His brothers and sisters, Maria de Lourdes (Ilidio), Matilde (José), Juliana (Manuel), Idalina, Manuel Antônio (Barbara), Jorge (Charlene), Mario (Conceição), and Esmeralda (Ceasar); along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Maria José and Manuel Camara; sisters, Ramona and Judite (Joao); and brothers-in-law, Jorge Branco and José Bergantim.
Thank you to all the medical staff and personnel who helped our family at this time.
Private vigil prayers were held at Immaculate Conception Parish on April 8, 2020, and were celebrated by Fr. André Lico. Interment followed at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.

A Celebration of Life, for family and friends will be held at a later date.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Habitat for Humanity to continue building homes for people in need.
