MARY MCDONALD WILKIE
May 10, 1934 - March 29, 2020
Besides her husband Tom, left to cherish Mary's memory are her son John (Deanne); daughters, Linda (Ron), Dianne (Shaun) and Carol (Don); brother Neil (Laurel and family in Alberta); as well as her brothers, sister and extended family still in Scotland. Mary was a cherished Nana to her precious grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. They really were her pride and joy.
Mary was born in Perth, Scotland and married her beloved Tom on March 24, 1956. In July of 1966, Mary, Tom and their children boarded the Empress of Canada and embarked on a new life in Canada. After working for many years, Mary retired from the Province of Manitoba, Department of Tourism, Master Angler Program. Our parents had a wonderful retirement at Victoria Beach. She was a great cook, loved knitting, cake decorating, bingo, line dancing and carpet bowling. All the grandchildren have the greatest, happy memories spending time with Nana and Pop at Victoria Beach.
We are all so grateful for all the wonderful memories of a life well lived, including a family trip back to Scotland six years ago.
A truly classy lady, Mary was always dressed to the nines. No matter where she was, she would always have her lipstick applied immaculately and her high heels upon her feet. She was one in a million and will be missed by all who knew her.
In accordance with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Wilkie. She was a mother to any friend of her children's, and it was felt every time you stepped foot in her house and for every moment you were lucky enough to be in the Wilkie household. She was truly a rare soul. I will always remember her friendly smile , great laugh, humble wisdom and lightning wit. My deepest sympathies to all. - Posted by: Jim Harvey (family friend) on: Jan 04, 2022

Linda, I am so sorry for your loss of your mom. My memory of your mom is the cake that she made for my wedding. It was delicious! So many people commented on it, even to this day. I also remember her playing a joke on me with the cake. The day I went to pick it up, she was trying to convince me that she forgot to make it. A wonderful lady! - Posted by: Tracey King (Friend of family) on: May 27, 2020

Condolences to the entire family. We have fond memories of our visit to Scotland when we had the pleasure of meeting the rest of Neil's family. While we only saw Mary and Tom a few times over the years, it truly was nice to get to know them. Our hearts go out to you in this sad time. - Posted by: Fran & Ron Fisher (sister to Laurel Marshall) on: Apr 12, 2020
