JULIETTE RIGAUX
February 11, 1921 - April 5, 2020
Juliette will be sadly missed by her children, Joan Temple (Brian Solnes), Carol DeBaets, Dennis Rigaux (Karen), Linda Hoxworth, Lori Pouteau, daughter-in-law Marge Rigaux, 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Mom is also survived by her sister-in-law Alice DeDecker (Roger Lebeau), nieces and nephews.
Mom was born on February 11, 1921 at St. Alphonse. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Lucien, son Ken, sons-in-law, Dan DeBaets and Wayne Pouteau, her sister Angele Rigaux and brother Marcel DeDecker.
In 1941, Mom married Lucien and together they farmed near Mariapolis. Life on the farm was very busy for mom. In addition to caring for six children she kept a huge garden, canned, milked cows, knitted, worked on the catering committee, drove the school bus and volunteered wherever needed. Mom and dad spent many years of enjoyment as fans of the Mariapolis Blues Fastball team, socializing at the Friendship Club and Sunday night Bingo. In 1994, mom and dad moved to Winnipeg, where they enjoyed their many friends at Kirchhoff Gardens. Throughout the years, they spent many hours playing their favourite card game Bien with family and friends. After dad's death, mom spent her later years in care at Despins Residence and River Park Gardens.
Juliette had an immense love of family, showed kindness to all, lived her faith, made every person she met feel incredibly special and left a legacy of love. She had a gift. She spent her life putting everyone else's needs before her own.
Juliette's family would like to thank the staff at River Park Gardens for all their loving care given to mom. We especially would like to thank mom's loyal friend Toni Handler for the special friendship they shared.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place when it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Juliette's memory to River Park Gardens, Mariapolis Church Fund, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice.
