Hugs to you Noraliza and your family. I cannot imagine your sorrow, but I do know your joy at having had someone so special to love. Your son was so lucky to have had you as his mom and to have had such a loving caring family. Deep sympathy from me and my family to yours. Dana - Posted by: Dana (Friend ) on: Apr 18, 2020

Being an educational assistant is one of the best jobs in the world but working with Jacob made it that much better! It was such a gift to be able to spend time with him. The best part of my day was when he would give me that wonderful smile that he was so famous for and look at me with those big sparkly eyes. Jacob was such a happy fella and had so many of those smiles to give to his classmates, teachers, and EAs. We all absolutely fell in love with him. That sweet little boy loved to stroll the halls in his walker while carrying his stuffed toy, "Baby Shark", and he would always have his classmates eagerly asking to come along with him every single time. He loved them as well. You could tell by the way he clapped his hands and smiled and laughed with them as they joined in. If Jacob was in his walker, the children excitedly rode along beside him in a plasma car. If Jacob was on his bike, they would walk beside him and help him hold onto his handlebars, while saying what a good job he was doing the whole time. It wasn't often, but once in a while when Jacob would cry, his classmates, without being asked to, would burst into one of his favourite songs. "Days of the week", "Baby Shark", or the "Alphabet song" were some of their favourite go to's. They knew instinctively what would make him happy and without even skipping a beat would start to sing. They would even come over and rub his back. When Jacob would see the bus at the end of the day, he knew he was going to be going home to see his family. I will never forget how excited he would get. I would ask him, "Do you want to go home?" and he would smile (that really big smile he had). Then I would ask him, "Do you want to see Mom?" and he would laugh, his eyes sparkling, and say "Yeah". Then I would ask, "Do you want to see Dad?" and again, Jacob would say, "Yeah" this time kicking his feet. Lastly, I would ask, "Do you want to see Grandma?" and by this point he would be overcome with excitement! Jacob would be waving his arms, kicking his feet up and down, nodding his head and saying "Yeah" while laughing. It was such a wonderful sight to see him overcome with love and joy for his family! It breaks my heart to think of what Jacob's family must be going through. I hope with time some of your wonderful memories of Jacob will be able to console you. I'm sending you all, my deepest sympathies. It is so sad to know that we won't be able to see and be with Jacob in person anymore but I am so grateful to have had the chance to get to know him. I will carry his memory around with me in my heart forever. We will never forget you Jacob. With all my love, Ms. Charlene - Posted by: Charlene Peters (care giver) on: Apr 15, 2020
