DENNIS WRIGHTSON

Dennis Wrightson died Friday, April 3, 2020 at the age of 74, after a valiant struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
Dennis was born and raised on a farm near Riding Mountain, Manitoba and earned his degrees at the University of Winnipeg. He dedicated his career to education as teacher, principal and superintendent, retiring from Beautiful Plains School Division in 2002.
Dennis and Leslie, his wife of 49 years, spent several years enjoying the coastal beauty of Parksville, BC.
Preceded by Leslie, Dennis is survived by his brothers, Arthur and Syd; his sister Margaret; his children, Adrienne and Michael and four grandchildren. His gentle being, wisdom, and sense of humour will be missed.
Memorial services to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Society BC.

  • Our condolences to the family of our dear friend Dennis. We so enjoyed working with him at our business ‘The Winery’ in Coombs on Vancouver Island. We will continue walking the local Parkinson’s yearly walk in his memory. He was a wonderful man and we are glad to have known him.   • So sorry to hear of Dennis's passing. I worked with Dennis for many years as as school board trustee and later as a teacher. I highly respected Dennis for his leadership skills and also for his common sense approach to all Things needing attention. I am just sorry that they moved, we could have had more time together.   • I have very fond memories of Dennis and his family. Our families lived about 1 1/2 miles apart in the Roskeen School district..Roskeen School of course does not exist anymore, just in our memories. I had the pleasure to have Dennis as a student (grade 5 or 6) in that rural one room School. I am very sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.
