August 4, 1937 - April 13, 2020
Mom leaves to mourn her son Glen (Joyce) Urbanski, daughter Jan (Brian) Knight, grandson Jordan (Yelena) Urbanski, grandson Darcy (Kirsten) Knight, grandson Trevor Knight, sister Joan (Ernie) Wilkie, and stepgrandaughters, Tracy Morand and Sandy (Joey) Willis. She was predeceased by her parents, Kay and Kelly Chalmers, nephew Al Wilkie, and great-niece Laura Thompson.
Mom passed peacefully with Glen and Jan by her side.
Mom graduated from X-Ray and worked until her children were born. She was a stay at home mother until she returned to work in X-Ray at Silver Heights Medical in the late 1970s. She loved the work and the friends she made there and stayed until the clinic closed. She worked part time at Assiniboine Clinic until her retirement.
Mom had many wonderful friends. She enjoyed hen club, playing rummoli and dominos, her trips to Las Vegas with Nanny, Joan and Ernie, and attending Jan and Glen's sporting events over many years. She cherished the 10 years of friendship and time she spent with Jack.
A special thank you to Joan and Ernie for all you did for Mom all her life. Also, very special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care. You went above and beyond to make Mom comfortable and safe during this extremely difficult time when family could not be there.
According to Mom's wishes, there will not be a formal service. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
We will miss you Mom but your legacy will forever live on in the hearts of family, friends and the many people whose lives you have touched. We pray you are at peace.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to The Salvation Army or Siloam Mission in Mom's memory.
