SUSAN MELVINA TAYLOR
Susan is survived by her daughter Jasmin; her grandchildren, Ashton and Ella; her siblings, Jack (Fran), Judi (Leslie), Lawson (Connie), Garth (Cindy), Gerry (Shirley), Mark (Patti), Jeff, Darrell (Diane) and Bradley; a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends. Susan was predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Melvina Taylor, and her daughter Jade Vinet (nee Markwart).
Susan was a kind and generous person, known to share what she had even when she didn't have much. She loved to laugh and tease and joke with everyone she knew. Susan would strike up a conversation with anyone. Susan was very observant, noticing what many people would miss. She was also known to speak her mind, and had a sharp tongue at times. Susan related to children easily and spent a lot of time teaching kids how to cook, clean, make art, and much more. She always brought little gifts for the kids in her life. She loved her daughters and her grandchildren so much, and cherished the times spent with them.
Susan had many different jobs during her lifetime. Susan worked in group homes, in Middlechurch Personal Care Home, at a fly-in fishing lodge in La Ronge, SK, and in different kitchens and cafeterias, to name a few. She took a variety of classes and trainings to gain new skills and better herself.
Susan dealt with many struggles in her time, including the loss of her daughter Jade, as well as numerous health issues. Susan had a strong faith, and often turned to prayer and to her church during her struggles. She made many close friends that shared her faith and found comfort connecting with God.
The family gratefully declines flowers. Donations in Susan's memory to Diabetes Canada are welcome, or to any organizations in Winnipeg working to support marginalized communities like Sunshine House or Siloam Mission.
A Celebration of Life and interment will be scheduled at a later date.

I have a lot of fond childhood memories of time spent. With Susan as kids, I would go for supper to her place and watch how quickly food would disappear with 9 kids! Always had room for one more, had lots of laughs at the Taylor house. Susan was a good soul. RIP my friend. - Posted by: Sandra Nore-Colles (Childhood friend) on: Apr 18, 2020
