NETA VOGT

On Easter morning, April 12, 2020, Neta Vogt passed away to be with Jesus.
She was born at home to George and Mary (Neufelt) Vogt in Gretna, Manitoba on May 25, 1929. Neta was predeceased by her sisters, Justina (Moosienko, Linaker), Annie, Mary (Guenther), Katherine (Gracie) and Helen; two infant brothers; and is survived by Elma (Hein), George and Ledda (Bernacki).
Neta was always ready for a new adventure. Winnipeg was her first place of work as a domestic helper to earn money for an education. Neta took up bookkeeping and worked in various business here in the city. This prepared Neta for the next big step to leave her sisters and move to Toronto. There she soon found a job with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Then Neta bought a house to room tenants and, with a sense of wanting to make more money, she went into a small business venture. With her day job, this did not turn out well. Neta enjoyed long trips, making friends and attending church. She volunteered in a hospital and worked with children. Animals is another story, she loved them and always had a dog as a pet. Neta enjoyed getting around Toronto in her manual shift Volkswagen Beetle. Oh yes, she also had a tiny part in a movie as a bag lady. Neta had a passion for health foods and spent time and money in trying new products.
After retiring from work, she returned to Winnipeg to be with family and friends. Here again, she found a place to help with children in a church setting. Neta was always ready to donate to a needy cause. Neta loved a good joke and fun times.
We don't know exactly when she started to have symptoms of dementia. It became obvious around seven years ago and later required special care. That is when Maggie "Poppins" stepped in and cared for Neta with her nephew's help. This care kept Neta out of a nursing home until she became too much for for one person to look after.
We give special recognition to Misericordia, Deer Lodge and Riverview who enabled Neta to have a dignified life. To Maggie Harty we owe many thanks. As of late Neta's frequent saying became "I have to go." Neta's voyage came to an end on earth, but her spirit lives on.
In lieu of flowers, consider taking care of someone you may see in need.
