SHIRLEY MURCHISON (SCHELLENBERG)

With great sadness, we announce the
passing of our sweet, kind and gentle Shirley on April 14, 2020 at the age of 64 years.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Dwight, step-daughter Kim and step-granddaughter Trinity. She also leaves behind her sisters, with whom she shared a special bond; Rosemary Schellenberg, Marlene Pope (Darrell), and Bonnie Schellenberg (Rick Kotaska). She will also be affectionately remembered by her
nephews, whom she loved dearly; Carey,
Davis, Tyler (Samantha), Ryan, Devan and her step-niece Alysha. Shirley also leaves
behind the Murchison family, as well as
extended family and many close friends.
Shirley always held her family close to her heart.
She was predeceased by her mother and
father, Alice and Martin.
Shirley was employed by United Grain Growers the majority of her working life.
Shirley was at her happiest spending time with Dwight, family, friends and at their
Falcon Lake cottage; although she may have been at her best while on a good shopping spree . . . her sisters and friends can attest to that! She also enjoyed gardening, dancing and her many travels with Dwight and family. Shirley possessed so many extraordinary
qualities. She was kind, generous, caring, soft spoken and loved a good laugh.
The family would like to thank the
Palliative Care team, your care and
compassion is remarkable. We would also like to thank family and friends who supported Shirley through her cancer journey, you gave her strength, encouragement and help beyond words.
At Shirley's request, cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a later date.
Care entrusted to Interlake Cremation & Memorial Services.

Shirley was a wonderful person to work with during our days at UGG. I will never forget her laugh and silent support during our years of working together. Definitely sweet, kind & gentle, also such a dear & true friend that would never say a bad thing about anybody. You could tell her anything & she would never tell a soul, your secret was always safe with her. She was my Maid of Honor almost 35 years ago due to our wonderful friendship. I will miss our conversations & am so glad that I had to the chance to know her all these years. Dwight, Greg and I are so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. We always enjoyed visiting both of you at the lake. Shirley was always such a kind and wonderful person. Rose, Marlene and Bonnie - I was so sad to see this in the paper today. I still remember all the good times we had growing up together - your family will always be in my heart.
