LEO F. LANSARD
September 4, 1930 - April 8, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leo Lansard, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dad passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 89. Now reunited with his loving wife of 53 years, Lucille (nee Legal).
Dad was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB and as a teenager, attended Otterburne College. After several years, he rejoined his parents in Ste. Anne to help on the farm. This is where he met mom, married and raised their family of six children while managing a farm and establishing a roofing business. In 1977, they built their dream log house. With his many talents, dad crafted their dining table and chandelier. They travelled to Hawaii, Italy, France, Mexico and numerous States. Dad kept busy with golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening, bowling and horseshoe, developing lifelong friendships. In 2004, they moved to the Villa Youville. Last summer Dad enjoyed a day trip with his children, exploring Ste. Rose du Lac where he grew up.
Dad was a very generous and caring man with great ethics and strong family roots. He took pride in his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most of all, we will miss his captivating story-telling.
The family wishes to express our appreciation and gratitude for all the prayers, messages and cards received from relatives and friends. Our sincerest thanks to his special friend Marguerite.
Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children, Guy (Marnie), Nicole, Etienne (Tsige), Rachelle (Richard), Andre, Jacqueline (Marcel) and his grandchildren, Jeff (Tara), Chris, Amanda, Nick, Jonah, Jonathan, Joel, Frankie, Stefanie, Jose, Mathieu, Louis, Sherry-Ann, Sylvie (Alain), Charlotte, Dillon, Janelle, Derric and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Leo is also survived by his sisters, Anna and Bea; in-laws, Lilliane, Fernande, Betty, Al, Marcel, Laurent, Blandine, Gisele, Raymond L, Charlie (Helene) and Leo.
Leo was predeceased by his parents, Jean-Marie and Beatrice Lansard; sisters, Isabelle, Adrienne, Phil, Claire, Rose-Marie; brothers, Isidore, Jean-Paul, Eugene, Fern and Andy; in-laws, Josephine, Raymond S, Jean-Marie H, Gerry, Roger, Marie L, Etienne, Marie S and Jean.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made in his memory to the Villa Youville, 15 Charriere Road, Ste. Anne, MB R5H 1C9.
Memorial Service to be held at a later date. Details to follow.

  • Sincere sympathy to all of his descendants, my cousins. I will remember oncle Leo as a man who enjoyed nature and music. It was hard to see such an active man feel so unwell over the last 2-3 weeks. Oncle Leo is now resting with tante Lucille who was certainly waiting for her beloved "gros Leo". Know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Claudette Dornez - Posted by: Claudette Dornez (Niece) on: Apr 25, 2020

  • My sympathy to all your family on the Leo's passing. Now he is joining many of his family, including Uncle Andy, with whom he shared many a golf game. I do remember the beautiful log house that he built and shared with Lucille. I also love the cedars that he helped Andy transplant to our home. They are still green and looking great. Again, my condolences. Auntie Betty - Posted by: Elizabeth Anna Lansard (sister-in-law) on: Apr 25, 2020
